After the middle of March, Tucson’s event calendar imploded. Iconic local events cancelled right and left.
Will they be back in the fall? Or next spring? No one knows. I’ll repeat what has been said elsewhere and say that the Coronavirus is in charge.

In mid-February, I went out to dinner with an old friend. For the first time, I had a conversation with that mysterious illness that hadn’t ravaged the United States. Yet.
I told my friend that it couldn’t be that bad. That it probably wasn’t any worse than the seasonal flu. She glared at me and said, “It’s shutting down entire towns in China.”
Turns out that my friend was right.
And, sorry to say, the 2020 Gem Show may be the last we see for a while …
