The Accidental Birder

Before March 2019, I had little interest in birdwatching. Then came the doves. Darn things built a nest on top of my solar electric panel box.

That box (shown above) is attached to my water heater shed, which also holds my gardening tools. I wasn’t about to give up use of the shed, and those birds turned out to be as stubborn as I am.

They weren’t about to move their nesting location, and that was that.

Well, doves, if that’s how you feel about my place, you’re going to help me learn how to become a bird photographer. And that’s what they’ve done.

After shooting thousands of bird and yard photos, I selected the best and compiled them into a book that was just published. Learn more about the City Nature book.
